Delhi India is a historic city with many historical value such as past remains of spiritual and our memorable buildings, houses in which many of the very wealthy have once lived and temples and public praying situations. Delhi is rebuilding itself with a new development called 'metro Delhi'. This is a long term development to try and modernise the functioning of India's capital. Delhi India was titled in 2014 the largest commercial centre in Northern India.
Transport Delhi India is very heavily Dependant on it's transport, roads and railways to be able to bring this megacity together. In Delhi their is over 16.6 million licensed vehicles as of 2015.
Roads and Railways |
Roads and railways are vital in the connection of Delhi India. Delhi had been titled with India's largest bus systems, The inclusion of busses has only just recently been added because of the new development of 'Metro Delhi'. Delhi's main transport use is now busses with 60% of Delhi's residents and tourists now using this method of transport. Rail based transport has also just recently been added with the the new 'face lift' Of Delhi Capital, it has known grown in popularity with being India's Second largest method of transport. Cycle Rickshaws | A Rickshaw is a pedal powered 'car' in which is relatively cheap and very envirometaly friendly. The Rickshaw is a historic use of transport in India with the mechanical aspect of the rickshaw being very basic. The use of Rickshaw is still very popular today especially drawing tourists in, and for a good use of transport fro the non wealthy. The cycle Rickshaw is soon being fazed out of Delhi India with the new development of the megacity, but a more modern version of Rickshaw will soon be created as they are very enviromenatly friendly using only human or animal power to move. |
Main Highways and Roads |
Their are many Highways, roads and railways in New Delhi, this is because of the new 'Metro Delhi', their is over 4000 roads in Delhi and with the country's highest road density they need to be smart with their transport. In Delhi India their is over 5 major national highway's connecting Delhi to the rest of the country. |
